NEW VOCUM 14” AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK
Studio Vocum debuts Vocum 14’’ at Solidified: From matter to form, Milan Design Week 2026
Amsterdam studio presents a new, smaller ceramic high-fidelity loudspeaker in six new colour compositions — each a chord between two voices. Amsterdam / Milan, April 2026 .
Studio Vocum, the Amsterdam-based studio creating ceramic high-fidelity loudspeakers as design objects, will present the world debut of the Vocum 14″ at SOLIDIFIED: From Matter to Form, the collective exhibition curated by David Heldt of SOLIDIFIED and Sanne Kaal of FINISHED FORMS, during Milan Design Week 2026, 21–26 April.
The Vocum 14″ is Studio Vocum’s most resolved object to date — smaller in scale, undimmed in ambition. Like the Vocum 21″, the new model is hand-sculpted, cast and poured in pure porcelain and stoneware, and finished in ceramic glazes of exceptional depth and tactility. Where the 21″ commands a room, the 14″ enters it quietly and fills it completely.
Six New Colour Compositions The Vocum 14″ launches in six new two-tone colour compositions, each conceived by artist Pierluigi Pompei from his sound–colour synaesthesia — the extraordinary neurological condition through which he perceives musical tones as vivid colour. Each composition is a chord: two voices in dialogue, rendered in ceramic. The body and horn of each speaker are coloured as a pair, and each Vocum 14″ can be further personalised by selecting an alternative horn colour from within the collection — allowing the listener to tune the object as they would a sound.
The six new compositions will be revealed in full at SOLIDIFIED, Viafarini Gallery during Milan Design Week.
Coherence Through Material, Form and Composition SOLIDIFIED: From Matter to Form brings together designers, studios and brands in a shared exploration of coherence through material, form and composition. The exhibition examines how distinct objects and ideas can coexist within a single universe, emphasising tension, rhythm and movement over conventional notions of harmony. It is conceived as a curated environment in which individual works retain their autonomy while contributing to a broader spatial composition
shaped by texture, tactility and placement. Studio Vocum’s presence at the exhibition is natural, their ceramic loudspeakers as design objects hold their place at
SOLIDIFIED — acoustically and visually — objects that belong to the same conversation as ceramics, sculpture and considered design. The Vocum 14″ is conceived in precisely this spirit: a single radiating form, resolved in hand poured materiality, conceived in vivid colour and crisp sound.
“The Vocum 14″ offers both loud and quiet colours”, says Pierluigi Pompei, Creative Director. “The six new colour combinations are new chords — two voices finding each other. And the option to change the horn from within the collection means every owner composes their own instrument”. Principal Audio Designer Adam Foxwell adds, “The Vocum 14 is smaller, but it is a powerful speaker that holds the same sonic transparency, the same intricate high frequencies, the same bass performance as the 21″. The ceramic form gives us the rigidity and the precision to do that at any scale”.
