In a world marked by tension and constant acceleration, Shelter for Design invites visitors to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.

The group exhibition opened on 21 June at iCOON, a former military bunker on the Dutch coast. Its original defensive function has been reimagined as a place for dialogue, optimism, and contemplation. Curated by Berry Dijkstra and Helma Vlemmings, the exhibition is divided into five thematic environments, each offering a visual response to the challenges of contemporary society through the work of international designers.

Studio Vocum contributed to The Mirrored World through a curated sound environment designed to reinforce the exhibition’s central theme. A carefully selected programme of music and sound unfolds through Vocum’s ceramic loudspeakers, extending the dialogue between perception and reality. Rather than illustrating the works, the soundscape creates an immersive atmosphere that encourages visitors to question what is real, what is constructed, and how we experience both.
